Audrey Swayne, 105 years, of the Locust Grove Community of Peebles, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Seaman, Ohio.
Audrey was born in Rarden, Ohio, on June 23, 1914, to the late Samuel and Gracie (Alexander) Hoop. Audrey took pride in caring for her home and family.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Swayne, who passed away May 6, 1993; son, Frankie Swayne; and daughter, Phyllis Swayne, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great, great-grandchild. Audrey leaves behind a daughter, Willa Jean “Cricket” Chatman, of West Chester; sister-in-law, Flossie Hoop, of Dayton; and daughter-in-law, Kay Swayne, of Peebles. Audrey will be missed by her 6 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 30 great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles, with Phil Fulton officiating. Friends and family may pay their respects during visiting hours on Thursday, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
