Two decades after the closing of Rudd’s Christmas Display in Blue Creek, the entire Rudd family is inviting the community to join them in remembering the beloved attraction that attracted over one million visitors to the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in Blue Creek.
The event will be held on Friday, November 29th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Adams County Christian School. At the event you will be able to reminisce about memories at the Christmas Farm, enjoy carols, hot cocoa, and stories. The family is will also look at old pictures and articles about the farm and watch videos of Rudd’s Christmas Farm.
Remember the signature books at Rudd’s Christmas Farm? At the event, you will have the opportunity to look through the books and see if you can find your name. “Christmas is fast approaching and many people say the season has become way to commercialized…not for us,” said the Rudd family.
“It has been 20 years since Rudd’s Christmas Farm closed. We are gonna have a family and friends get together on Nov 29th to reminisce,” said Cindy Rudd Lawrence.
Since sharing the event on social media over the weekend, many Facebook users started sharing their lifelong memories of the farm. “Our children were raised in Groton Connecticut from 1985 to 1991 while their Dad was serving in the U.S
Navy. When we could get back to Adams County for Christmas, it was the first place they wanted to go too. They have such good memories of coming out to Rudd’s Christmas Farm and climbing up and down the hills and visiting with the farm animals. So wish my grandchildren could have the same opportunity,” said Sara Lewis of West Union.
“When I was growing up the trip to Rudd’s Christmas Farm was a family tradition for us. It was the one thing we always looked forward to. I sure miss it!
No gifts will be exchanged and no money is required to attend.
