Another round of CDC Federal Grant Funding under the NACDD Disabilities and Healthy Communities Project is creating a very strong partnership between the Adams County Medical Foundation, the Adams County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the Ohio Valley CTC, Church 180, Adams County Village Mayors and Councils, and Venture Productions, Inc.
The “Little Food Pantries” have been designed and built under the Instruction of Vohn Hoop and his Carpentry Program at the CTC.
The pantries will then go to the Welding Program next under the Instruction of Brent Harper where a plate and holder will be welded in order to secure a post into the ground.
The scheduled placement of the Little Pantries in Adams County Communities will be the end of March or the first of April.
The little pantries will be supplied by food received through Church 180’s food program and then Venture Productions will distribute the food into all 6 pantries. The pantries will operate on an honor system and if 4H, Church and any other community groups want to donate food to the project, the food will need to be dropped off to Venture Productions.
Hunger is real and it is important to all the grant partners that people in Adams County have food available in times of need.
The Little Pantries are handicap accessible in height and will be operating in Manchester, West Union, Seaman, Blue Creek, Peebles and Winchester.
