David Johnson has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection to the deadly triple shooting that took place in Manchester last year. The plea was entered last week in the Adams County Court of Common Pleas, marking a significant step toward resolution in a case that shook the community.
Johnson, who was initially charged with two counts of aggravated murder and felonious assault, admitted his role in the March 2024 shooting that claimed the lives of Jimmy Shoemaker and Sharon Mozingo and left a third victim seriously injured.
The tragic events unfolded in Manchester when Johnson reportedly opened fire on the three victims before fleeing the scene. His wife, Tabitha Johnson, was later arrested on separate but related charges, including tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice, for allegedly aiding his escape.
Following his arrest on March 29, 2024, in Clinton County, Johnson remained in custody, with bond set at $2 million due to the severity of the charges and his status as a parolee. Until earlier this year, he had been housed at the Lorain Correctional Institution.
Adams County Prosecutor Aaron Haslam had previously indicated that additional charges could be considered, particularly concerning the surviving victim. Johnson was sentenced to decades in prison last week, however, court documents were not readily available by press time.
