The Adams County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Adams County Association for Individuals with DD recently came together to honor the life and legacy of T.J. McClellan with the dedication of a newly purchased Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The device, now located on the main floor of The Precinct office building, was funded through memorial donations made in McClellan’s name.
T.J. McClellan, 45, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his residence. Born April 1, 1979, in West Union, he was the son of John McClellan and Linda (Lunsford) Waugh. A 1998 graduate of North Adams High School, T.J. worked at Venture Productions and served as the Board Advocate for the Adams County Board of DD, a role he embraced with passion and pride. He was known for his dedication to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and was a beloved presence within the community.
T.J. was a man of strong faith who attended both the Dunkinsville United Methodist Church and Winchester United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends, cheering on local sports teams, and volunteering for causes close to his heart — most notably the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Program in Boone, North Carolina.
The AED now stands as a meaningful tribute to his memory and commitment to helping others. Officials say it will serve as a vital emergency tool for years to come and a reminder of the impact T.J. had on those around him.
“This AED will forever be an asset,” a spokesperson said. “And it will always carry the spirit of someone who dedicated his life to caring for others.”
