On November 11, 2024, the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) honored Lisa Hord, Strategic Project Support Specialist at Southern State Community College, with the Outstanding Leadership Award. Hord was among several distinguished nominees for the accolade.
Nominated by the Brown County Educational Service Center, Hord has been a steadfast collaborator with the organization, contributing her expertise to numerous initiatives. She has actively participated on committees such as the County Career Committee, the Business Advisory Committee, and the STEAMOLOGY Committee, which promotes science, technology, engineering, arts, and math education. Hord has created tailored career lessons for students in rural communities and regularly presents the College Credit Plus Program to school districts across southern Ohio.
In her role at Southern State, Hord facilitates access to higher education by providing resource materials and sharing essential information about college opportunities with various stakeholders. Additionally, she plays a vital role in planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives that align with Southern State’s mission and strategic objectives.
As a member of the College’s Communications Team, Hord coordinates tasks, manages timelines, and fosters cross-departmental collaboration to achieve project goals.

Hord resides in Maysville, Kentucky, where she lives on the family farm with her husband, David.
