The Franklin Township Fire Department has much to celebrate this season, as several recent developments showcase their commitment to improving services and ensuring community safety.
In November, the department proudly took delivery of the new Tanker 20, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that will significantly enhance their firefighting and rescue capabilities. This vital addition to the department’s fleet was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of the taxpayers in Franklin Township and Bratton Township.

Adding to the good news, the State of Ohio recently announced that the Franklin Township Fire Department has been awarded a significant state grant. The department has been selected to receive $26,370 through the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Multi-Agency Radio Communication System (MARCS) grant. These funds will be used to upgrade the department’s current radios and communication systems and cover associated service fees for the radio system.
“Securing funding through grants like this is crucial,” the department emphasized. “It allows us to keep costs down for our taxpayers while allocating resources for future projects that enhance our services.” The improved communication system is expected to bolster operational efficiency, ensuring faster and more effective responses to emergencies.
