The Franklin Township Fire Department has much to celebrate this season, as several recent developments showcase their commitment to improving services and ensuring community safety.
In November, the department proudly took delivery of the new Tanker 20, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that will significantly enhance their firefighting and rescue capabilities. This vital addition to the department’s fleet was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of the taxpayers in Franklin Township and Bratton Township.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the taxpayers,” a spokesperson for the department said. “Your continued support allows us to provide the high-quality fire and rescue services that our community deserves,” said the department on social media. The department also expressed appreciation to the Franklin Township trustees for approving the purchase and to Vogelpohl Fire Equipment, their trusted partner in securing reliable and efficient equipment.
Adding to the good news, the State of Ohio recently announced that the Franklin Township Fire Department has been awarded a significant state grant. The department has been selected to receive $26,370 through the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Multi-Agency Radio Communication System (MARCS) grant. These funds will be used to upgrade the department’s current radios and communication systems and cover associated service fees for the radio system.
“Securing funding through grants like this is crucial,” the department emphasized. “It allows us to keep costs down for our taxpayers while allocating resources for future projects that enhance our services.” The improved communication system is expected to bolster operational efficiency, ensuring faster and more effective responses to emergencies.
The Franklin Township Fire Department remains dedicated to serving the community with excellence, and these recent advancements highlight their commitment to progress. The department is confident that these investments will not only improve their current operations but also pave the way for even greater service to the residents of Franklin and Bratton Townships.
