Ohio led the United States in places the public could drop off with 293 Take Back Locations through out the state. Over the course of the program to date Ohio has had 921,290 pounds taken back.
The National Drug Take Back Day (NDTBD) will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People may bring any old, outdated or no longer used medication to our drop off site at the Tractor Supply Center (TSC) parking lot located on St. Rt. 41 in West Union, Ohio.
It is a drive thru site, stay in your car and drop your bag or bags of medication into our container. Medication may be kept in their original containers, no one ever sees name or type of medication disposed. The containers are sealed and driven to the Blue Ash collection site by the Adams County Sheriff’s office.
NEW FOR THIS TIME: We will accept any vaping devices for disposal too. Please keep these devices separate to dispose in the proper container. Adams Brown Recycle dispose of the vape devices for our county.
The Adams County Sheriff Office, Adams County Youth Prevention Coalition and the Adams County Medical Foundation work together to help Adams County clean out medicine cabinets and get rid of medication no longer used or needed and to dispose of vaping devices. By disposing of the medications in this responsible way the environment is also protected. Medications should never be flushed or just tossed in the garbage.
If you can not attend the drive thru on October 26,2024 which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tractor supply parking lot, there are options. Visit the Take Back website us the year round take back search to find an authorized take back location near you. The site also offers links to treatments for those who may be suffering with addition.
