The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal (SFM) has ruled that a recent fire in Manchester, Ohio (Adams County) was caused by arson. Investigators are now seeking public assistance to identify those responsible for the crime.
The Manchester Fire Department responded to the blaze on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 4:22 a.m. The fire occurred at a vacant single-family home located at 812 Jack Roush Way. When crews arrived, they found the garage, carport, and house fully engulfed in flames. The fire also spread, causing damage to an occupied neighboring home. Multiple fire departments provided mutual aid in containing the fire.
Following the investigation, officials determined that the fire had been intentionally set. The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
