A Fayette County man was apprehended Sunday night in Adams County following an alleged kidnapping of two individuals from Washington Court House, as reported by local authorities.
According to the Record Hearld in Washington Courthouse, the incident began Sunday at 7:08 p.m. when the Washington Court House Police Department was alerted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office about a 911 call from a woman who, speaking in a whisper, claimed she had been kidnapped. During the brief call, the woman mentioned the name Chad Terry, a resident of Washington Court House.
Officers promptly responded and searched Terry’s residence but found no sign of him.
Around 8:14 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff’s Office contacted Washington C.H. Police, informing them that two individuals who claimed they had been kidnapped from Washington Court House had managed to escape. The victims sought refuge in a nearby residence and notified local authorities. According to police, both victims were acquaintances of Terry. Their ages have not been disclosed.
Later, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Terry was discovered in a nearby wooded area, thanks to the combined efforts of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Police Department, and Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Terry was arrested on two counts of first-degree felony kidnapping. The following day, he was transported back to Washington Court House and is now being held in the Fayette County Jail.
