The West Union Lions Club is delighted to announce the 71st Annual Independence Day Parade, taking place on Thursday, July 4th, 2024. This beloved event, one of West Union’s longest-running traditions, will feature local business owners Rhonda Jones and Kathy Stewart as the Grand Marshals.

- Lineup Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Step-off Time: 10:00 a.m.
Participants should arrive for the lineup starting at 9:00 a.m., with the parade stepping off at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Spectators can look forward to a vibrant display of floats, antique cars, fire engines, community groups, and more, all celebrating the spirit of Independence Day.
This year, the parade honors Rhonda Jones and Kathy Stewart, local businesswomen who have made significant contributions to the West Union community. Since 2005, Rhonda and Kathy have owned Hazelbaker Insurance, where they have provided exceptional service and support to local residents and businesses.
About the Grand Marshals:
- Kathy Stewart: Beginning her career at Hazelbaker Insurance in 1996, Kathy Stewart has been a dedicated member of the West Union community. She has two sons and three beautiful grandchildren. Beyond her professional achievements, Kathy serves on the West Union High School Alumni Association and attends Seaman Community Church. She also co-owns Buckeye Valley Cattle with her sons.
- Rhonda Jones: Rhonda entered the insurance industry in May 1989 and has been a vital part of the community ever since. Married to Kelly (aka Red) Jones of Winchester, Rhonda is also a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating the Willow Event Center and Sunset Bowling Alley with Kelly. She actively participates in youth programs at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Both Rhonda and Kathy are proud members of the Adams County Chamber of Commerce and staunch supporters of numerous community events and activities, including the Adams County Fair. Their dedication to community service and support for local initiatives have made them well-respected figures in West Union.
