In the wake of a tragic triple shooting incident in Manchester last month, where two lives were lost and one individual was gravely injured, the suspects involved appeared in court for a bond hearing last week.
David and Tabitha Johnson sat before Judge Roy Gabbert, each facing separate but interconnected charges. David Johnson, accused of two counts of murder, and Tabitha Johnson, charged with tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice.
The court learned that Tabitha Johnson allegedly assisted David Johnson in fleeing the scene of the crime after he reportedly shot three individuals, resulting in the deaths of Jimmy Shoemaker and Sharon Mozingo.
Judge Gabbert set David Johnson’s bond at $2 million, reflecting the severity of the charges against him, while Tabitha Johnson’s bond was set at $200,000. Despite the possibility of posting bond, David Johnson’s parole status renders him ineligible for release.
In a somber courtroom scene, David Johnson’s emotional display underscored the gravity of the situation, particularly as he admitted to being on parole during the hearing.
Adams County Prosecutor Aaron Haslam hinted at the potential for additional charges pending the presentation of the cases to the grand jury. Notably, there are currently no charges against the suspects for the crimes committed against the surviving victim of the shooting.
The arrest of David and Tabitha Johnson in Clinton County on Friday, March 29th marked a significant development in the ongoing investigation into this tragic event.
