The Winchester Community Fire District reported last week that on Sunday morning, February 4th, the department was dispatched to the area of 2300 Tri-County Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, Engine 19 with a crew of four found a fully engulfed single-wide near a threatened small, detached garage.
Members of the department also found the main power line to the house had burned and was lying in the side yard visibly arcing. American Electric Power was contacted to shut the power off. The blaze was extinguished thanks to the Winchester Community Fire District, Wayne Township Fire Department, Eastern Joint Fire and EMS along with Scott Township Fire Department.
The fire is currently being investigated for possible arson by the State Fire Marshal. According to the fire department, the residence had been vacant for approximately two weeks.
