The Ohio Highway Patrol reports that a fatal accident occurred on Thursday evening, January 11th on Eckmansville Road, just south of Russellville Road. According to the patrol, 33-year-old Heather Grooms was walking north on Eckmansville Road at around 9:16 p.m. when she was hit by a driver of a 2015 Honda Accord.
Grooms was taken to the Adams County Regional Medical Center by emergency personnel and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Honda was not hurt. The patrol has not released their name and did not say whether charges would be filed.
The accident remains under investigation.
