Multiple health organizations, including the Adams County Regional Medical Center and Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center collaborated this past weekend to present the 2nd Annual Back-to-School Health Fair at the Adams County Christian School. The event had an approximate attendance of 1300 at the close the event.
The theme of this year’s fair was “A Health Journey for Mind, Body & Soul” and included a focus on food, fitness, wellness and mental health. The free event included informational booths from local resources for health/mental health and county/areas services, such as ABCAP, The Adams County Public Library, AC Health Department, WIC, County Schools, and many others. Lunch and Learn sessions were presented in the parking lot, with various topics ranging from skin cancer prevention to music therapy.
The event also featured games, music, local food trucks and other fun activities for kids, teens, and families. Those in attendance received health information, gift cards, food vouchers, supplies and toys.
In addition, the agencies present collaborated on health screenings, including vision and dermatology, child immunizations, nutrition education.
