The Village of West Union is looking to fill several positions within village government, officials announced last week. Citizens of the village have until April 14th to apply for a vacant council position created by the departure of former Councilman John R. Lafferty. Applicants for the position must be a resident/registered voter in West Union for a minimum of one year to be elgible for appointment. Applications should be received by the Village Fiscal Officer Melissa J. Hall.
The village is also continuing to seek applicants to fill the position of Zoning Planning Commission and the Zoning Appeals Board. The newly created Planning Commission will initiate advisable changes or amendments to the text or map of the zoning ordinances among other duties. The Zoning Appeals Board may hear and decide on appeals where it alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision of determination made by a Zoning Administrator in the enforcement of the Village of West Union’s Zoning Ordinance. Both positions must apply to the Village Fiscal Officer Melissa J. Hall by April 17th.
The Council will meet on April 19th at 6:00 p.m. to fill the vacant seat on the West Union Village Council.
