The West Union Chief of Police announced last week that he would retire from the job this spring. Chief Tim Sanderson is a department veteran, having served the people of West Union for decades and took the top job after former Chief Roy Stricklett retired because of medical issues in 2016.
“With a heavy heart, I put in for my retirement on March 31st,” said Sanderson. “I hope the village of West Union the best of luck…I hope the best for their Police Department, it ain’t easy.”
According to village officials, Mayor Jason Buda will recommend a replacement of Sanderson for adoption by the Council of West Union.
