The 135th General Assembly of Ohio convened on Tuesday afternoon in Columbus. A day enshrined in the Constitution of the state of Ohio, the House of Representatives and Senate administered the oaths of office to members-elect and spread them on the pages of their respective Chambers’ journal.
Among those being sworn in was Adams County’s own Brian Baldridge. A former Wayne Township Trustee and County Commissioner, Baldridge was first elected to the Ohio House in 2018 and was elected to a third term in November. Baldridge easily defeated his Republican challenger in the bifurcated August primary by 75 points and his general election opponent by more than 50 points.
“It is an honor to be your State Representative. This week, I was sworn in by Justice Pat Fischer with my family by my side. I will continue to serve the 90th district to the best of my ability,” said Baldridge.
In addition to his prior elected service, Baldridge began his career in the fire service at age 18 for Wayne Township. Later, he served as a career firefighter and paramedic with Anderson Township in Hamilton County. He continues to volunteer with the Wayne Township Fire Department to this day.
The 90th House District includes all of Adams and Scioto counties and a portion of Brown County.
