Hundreds of local residents were on hand Saturday as the Lions Clubs of Adams County officially kicked off the holiday season with “An Adams County Christmas” on the Courthouse lawn. Now in its 12th year, the evening featured a concert by the Liberty Band, doughnuts provided by the Manchester Lions Club, a Christmas reading by the Adams County Public Library, and a short Christmas parade.
The parade featured several local businesses and Adams County Homecare was awarded for their festive entry.
The annual event also features the lighting of the county Christmas tree. The guest of honor this year was a local businesswoman and civic leader Tammy Crothers, representing the Peebles Lions Club. Crothers owns the Roush Insurance Agency in West Union.
