The West Union Lion’s Club and the Adams County Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the continuation of a spicy tradition in the Village of West Union. On Saturday, October 29th the West Union Lion’s Club in partnership with the Adams County Chamber of Commerce will hold a chili festival on the east lawn of the Adams County Courthouse. The community is invited to participate by either competing to see who has the best chili or by being a community judge. Participants will compete for naming rights of having the “Best Chili in West Union” and win prizes graciously donated by local businesses.
Participants are asked to submit their chili to the chili tent no later than 11:00 a.m. with the tasting beginning at 11:30 a.m. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
“We are excited to be bringing this tradition back to the Village of West Union,” said West Union Lion Jason Francis. “In 2019, we had nearly 20 entries and the community had a great time selecting their favorite chili while enjoying the music, local vendors, and farm games. We invite the community to come out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!”
The chili festival will also feature music, games, crafts, vendors, and community organizations and businesses. In addition, the West Union Lions will hold a painting class on the courthouse lawn where attendees can paint the courthouse lawn with the fall foliage.
