The grandparents of a local young man are thankful for the outpouring of support of their grandson during the recent Adams County Fair. According to the family, William has been participating in the 4-H program for four years and loves the fair while showing his dairy goats and selling his fudge.
Last year, William couldn’t show because of COVID and this year, he was unable to attend or show due to another serious disease that also starts with a C. On June 1st, William was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma and medical professionals quickly began a series of treatments.
William’s family says that he was only home for a few days before going back to the hospital. “He is a fighter and a warrior, thus the name “William’s Warriors” was formed to help him fight this terrible disease,” said Greg and Tosca Geeslin, his grandparents.
This would have been the first year showing for Walker, the brother of William. Walker would have also worked to sell his fudge, but with all the effort being put on Willaim and getting him well at home, Walker was unable to show or sell his fudge this year. An effort by the Adams County Jr. Fair, Adams County Junior Dairymen and the Shoemaker family, brought in over $14,000 for the fudge. William and Walker donated 20% of the sale to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus to their oncology department.
“We are confident that William and Walker will be at the fair next year showing their goats and selling their fudge,” said Greg and Tosca. “Adams County is the best community in the world and we wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.” The buyers of the fudge included: Special Touch Homecare, Moonlight Livestock and Trucking, Armstrong Crop Insurnace, Sparks Farms, Preston’s Pumpkins, Kitchen Electric, WU Electric and Plumbing, WC Milling, Mannings, Blake Pharmacy, McCann Farms, Community Fuels, National Bank of Adams County, Roy Gabbert, Southern Hills Community Bank, Harris Farms, R&S Construction, Special Touch Florist, Rhonemus Farms, ABC Goats, Fast-Track It, O’Reilly, Paul Hall and Associates, Carol & Corbett Phipps, Donald McCarty Family, Lace and Grace, Hess Auction, Alica Mae Vogel, Farm Credit Services, Phillip and Vicki Rhonemus, ProFlo Septic Services, Tom Downing Family, Adams County Farm Bureau, David and Stephanie Seaman, Kenneth Dick, Luke and Lyn Rhonemus, Kimmerly Animal & Crop Farm, Fitzgerald’s Seaman Pharmacy, R&S Construction, C&M Contracting, Buckeye Confections, Nathan Vogel, S&S Trucking, Adams Rural Electric, Youth Sporting Officiating, Bradley Pools & Construction, Hesler Brothers Club Goats, Brock Pistole, the Fair Royalty, and Adams County Jr. Dairymen.
