A Manchester area man is behind bars after authorities say he shot a firearm into an occupied home on March 26,2021. According to booking records at the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, 22-year-old Alex Bennington was arrested on multiple charges on April 1st.
The incident prompting the arrest occurred at a residence located 140 Bloom Drive in Liberty Township. The home was occupied at the time of the shooting by Wesley Manning. Adams County Deputies have charged Bennington with felonious assault or attempting to cause harm by a deadly weapon, having a weapon under disability/prior drug offense, and discharging a weapon into an occupied home or school.
Bennington was found at a home in the Manchester area after a search warrant prepared by Detective Brian Newland and signed by Detective Sam Purdin was executed. Deputies Walters, Swayne, and Hanson assisted in the arrest.
The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute relating to a former girlfriend of Manning’s.
Bennington remains behind bars at the Adams County Jail. More charges from the incident may be filed against other suspects in the coming days.
