A former employee of Wilson’s Children’s Home has pled guilty to illegal use of a minor.
In May, Jermey Kremin, 41, of Rarden, was charged with illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance after he was interviewed by authorities. Kremin admitted giving a child in the care of the Wilson Children’s Home his cellphone so she could take nude photographs.
According to an affidavit, a minor child in the care of Wilson Children’s Home reported to law enforcement that between April 24, 2020 and April 26, 2020, Kremin had the child take nude photographs of herself with the promise of providing her with cigarettes. According to the affidavit, the child stated these nude photographs were taken on a cellphone provided to her by Kremin.
Jill Wright, Director of the Wilson’s Children Home told the Informer Kremin was hired in May 2019 as a Residential Care Worker at the Wilson Children’s Home.
Kremin was initially charged with four felony counts of illegal use of a minor. According to court documents, a jury trial was scheduled for August 3rd but was later canceled when Kremin changed his plea. On July 24th, Kremin pled guilty to one count of illegal use of a minor, the other three counts were dismissed.
Kremin was sentenced to 8 to 12 years in prison with 79 days credit, a fine of $7,068.91, and 5 years of Post Release Control. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Post-release control is a period of supervision of an offender by the Adult Parole Authority following release from imprisonment that includes one or more post-release control sanctions imposed by the Parole Board.
Wilson’s Children’s Home provides both residential and community programs for children.
