For over three years, Manchester native Jason M. Francis has been a weekly fixture spread upon the pages of the Informer and this week, the publication bids him farewell. Francis has accepted a new position at a local medical facility, conflicting him from a compensated role at the Southern Ohio Publishing Group.
“Jason has written over 500 stories for our readers – some serious, some funny,” said Matthew Sheeley. “We believe in asking the tough questions and reporting the facts. At our company, the community comes first – not corporate profits. Jason has always used integrity and honesty as a guiding principle in his writing and we are grateful for his service and will miss him dearly.”
“It has been a privilege to serve the people of Adams County as a reporter for the Informer for the past 4 years. The time has come, however, for me to set aside my pen and notebook and move on to new endeavors,” said Francis. “Reporting afforded me the opportunity to meet many fine people in the community, whom otherwise I may never have known.”
Francis continued, “Out of all the topics I have written about, I have enjoyed writing features about the many interesting people that work tirelessly and do amazing things for others in Adams County.” “I would like to thank our readers – without you, we could not do what we do. I would also like to thank my Informer family for always empowering me to reach higher and dig deeper into stories. The public expects good information and it has been my honor to play a role in writing about some of Adams County’s happy moments and issues that were tough to write, but still needed to be reported on.”
The Informer, now in its 10th year of service is owned by the Southern Ohio Publishing Group. The growing company is also responsible for InformerPress.com, the Informer Printing Division, and provides digital media services to clients throughout the region.
