John H. Rickey age 82 years of Winchester, Ohio passed away, Saturday, June 20, 2020. John was born December 21, 1937 in Winchester, Ohio the son of the late John Thomas & Elva (Purdin) Rickey. Besides his parents John is preceded in death by brothers, William, Robert, Wendall & Donald; sisters Leslie Rickey, Phyllis Carl, & Emma Rickey.
Mr. Rickey was a member of the Bentonville Community Church. The former Mayor of Winchester & Seaman, and a former Deputy Sherriff. He coached and umpired little league and enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Linda Rickey of Winchester; two daughters Marta Meyer of Winchester; Christael Dalton & Tim of Hillsboro; sister Shirley Massie of Wilmington; three brothers Brice Rickey of Cincinnati; Ronald Rickey of Decatur; Roger Rickey of Winchester; grandchildren Trevor & Tanner; and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home with John Greenlee officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery with a military service by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held the day of the service from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
