It’s time for the Friends of the North Adams Public Library’s annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Supper! Held at the Seaman McDonald’s on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the 12th year in a row, this community event provides a fun, inexpensive, and delicious way to help support programming at the North Adams Library! For a $5.00 donation, you will receive all-you-can-eat pancakes, a serving of sausage or bacon, and a small soft drink or coffee with free refills. Table service for this event will be provided by the Friends of the North Adams Public Library, and your ticket also places you in a door-prize drawing for one of 6 McDonald’s gift cards, the drawing for which will be held during the event. Tickets for the Pancake Supper must be purchased in advance, and are available from any Friends of the North Adams Public Library member, at both the Seaman and Winchester First State Bank, and at Monarch Meadows Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. The proceeds from this event help fund a variety of North Adams Library programs, including the Summer Reading Program, the Back to School Backpack Drawing, and the annual Holiday Reading Program. You can also support the North Adams Library by joining the Kroger Community Rewards program, which you can do online on Kroger’s website, and choosing the Friends of the North Adams Public Library as your selected nonprofit organization. This free program donates a percentage of your regular Kroger purchase to the Friends group, helping ensure we can continue to offer fun and engaging programs to the North Adams community!
Speaking of fun and engaging programs, remember that each of the Adams County Public Libraries have a plethora of teen programs for ages 10 to 18. The North Adams Library has a Teen Advisory Board (TAB), which meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 3:30 p.m., during which you can make crafts, do fun activities, and help decide what programs to do at future meetings. The Peebles, West Union, and Manchester branches each have a weekly Teen Activity Club (TAC) where tweens and teens can socialize with friends while completing cool activities like playing with robots and making Perler bead crafts. This program is on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. at both the West Union and Manchester Libraries, and on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. at the Peebles Library.
Library Resource Spotlight: While the Adams County Public Library does not provide free tax help, we do know where you can go to receive it. The Community Action Committee of Pike County provides free tax help to all ages at their Administration building, 941 Market St. Piketon, Ohio 45661, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at the Pike County Senior Center at 408 Walnut St. Waverly, Ohio 45690, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by appointment only.
