A couple of other special events this December are the Robert E. Hawkins Author Visits at two of the Adams County Public Library locations! Robert E. Hawkins grew up in West Union and graduated from the West Union High School in the class of 1988. Hawkins’ first book, “A Book of Matches: The Life, Murder and Family of an Appalachian War Veteran,” retells the 1949 murder of his grandfather, Oliver Elliot “Zeke” Stayner, a World War II United States Air Force veteran in Peebles.
