The Adams County Public Library is pleased to announce that Julia McCane-Knox, previously Team Leader of the North Adams Library, has accepted a promotion to Enrichment Services Coordinator! She takes on the responsibilities of staff management, marketing, and helps ensure our libraries serve our patrons to the best of our ability, working in conjunction with our Access Services Coordinator, Joshua Brown, and Executive Director, Nicholas Slone. To fill Julia’s previous position, Raymond Dunn, formerly the Programmer at the Peebles Library, will move to the North Adams branch as their new Public Service Team Leader. These exciting changes occur due to our previous Enrichment Services Coordinator, Natosha Massie, being selected as the new Library Director at the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County! She will be missed, but we are certain she, Julia, and Raymond will excel in their new positons.
Since all Adams County Public Library locations will be closed on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1 in observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, some of our weekly programs are cancelled. The North Adams, Manchester, and Peebles Libraries’ Story Times are cancelled for the weeks of December 23 and December 30. Also, the West Union, Manchester, and Peebles Libraries’ Tween Activity Clubs are cancelled for these two weeks, as is the North Adams Library’s After School Program. All our library branches will resume their regular program schedules the following week.
Even if you missed the December STEM Saturdays at the Manchester, Peebles, and North Adams Libraries, you still have the chance to experiment with this trifecta of robots at the West Union Library on December 28. Each of these programs begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 12:30 p.m. but you can come anytime during it to check out these cool technological and engineering marvels!
Remember, since the winter months bring inclement weather, make sure you check the Adams County Public Library (Ohio) Facebook page to see if we are closed, opening late, or closing early on days of winter weather. While we try to stay open as much as possible even in snow and ice, we want to ensure both our staff and patrons’ safety on days travel is too dangerous. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and hope everyone stays safe and warm this season.
