For the second month in a row, Rico, the West Union Village K-9 Unit and his handler Lt. Ryan Myers with assistance from the Adams County Sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle that contained more 31 grams of methamphetamine. According to the West Union Police Department, the drugs were going to be distributed in the Village and surrounding areas. It is believed the drugs found were valued at more than $2,500.
In late July, the K-9 Unit in collaboration with local officers and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department located more than 30 grams of methamphetamine in traffic stops that resulted in search warrants and arrests. During the July arrests, the West Union Police Department declined to go into details of the searches as they are considered on-going investigations but stated that the stops were made after surveillance showed the suspects leaving a known drug house near United Dairy Farmers in West Union. It is believed that the drugs are being brought to Adams County to sell from Cincinnati.
