An Adams County Common Pleas jury found Matthew Tolle, 34 of West Union guilty of the murder of Willard Lowe of Peebles last week.
In September 2018, Tolle was arrested and booked into the Adams County Jail after he allegedly stabbed Lowe. Authorities believe this was a result of a domestic dispute between Tolle, Lowe, and a female at 100 Augustus Drive, just off State Route 136 in the Panhandle.
According to court testimony, the stabbing was a result of an argument between the two men regarding Tolle’s ex-girlfriend.
In October, Tolle was indicted on two counts of Murder, both felony charges. Court records show that Tolle will be sentenced on June 4th. According to the Ohio Revised Code, Tolle could face life in prison and fines.
Deputy Director Trial Services Division at Office of the Ohio Public Defender John Cornely and Adams County Public Defender Tanya Drinnon were appointed as counsel for Tolle.
